Mona Ardeleanu (born 1984 in Lörrach, Germany)
lives and works in Stuttgart, Germany. She paints objects so naturally and realistically that they appear to truly exist. Fine fabrics, elaborate patterns, precious embroidery and other painted objects are placed centrally in the painting. They overlap, interpenetrate and stagger, sometimes falling softly, then draped or tied again. The result is a paradox. A realistic, seemingly tangible object that, on closer inspection, repeatedly opens up new levels of interpretation and questions the previous association. Works by Mona Ardeleanu can be found in the collections of Marta Herford Museum (DE), Kunstmuseum Stuttgart (DE), and the LBBW Collection in Stuttgart (DE), among others.
