In the intimate paintings of TM Davy ( *1980 ), the viewer enters into a dialogue with the portrayed, who at times can be seen in a vulnerable moment. The feeling of closeness is evident in each painting. The artist gives his figures the space to freely express themselves. Whether it is the bright glow of the midday sun or the softer glow of disappearing light surrounding the figure and reflecting on their skin, TM Davy's depictions enhance the mood and feeling of the subject at that very moment. To the viewer, TM Davy's fascination with the old masters, whose paintings he studied as a child, is clearly palpable.

TM Davy was born in New York City, US in 1980, where he lives and works today. He studied at School of Visual Arts New York City, at which he also teaches.
