From 24th March to 29th April 2023 we will show works by Maximilian Welz at Augustenstraße 63. Delicate shades of blue, gray and pink characterize the spherical works in the exhibition "Beyond". Maximilian Welz places a special emphasis on light and color effects in his paintings, where he is interested in both the physical laws of light and how it affects the surroundings, as well as the emotional and sensory aspects associated with it.

In some of the paintings in the exhibition, Maximilian Welz leaves a free edge on the canvas that is not painted. This arose from the question of why canvases have to be painted completely and up to the edge, when a stronger enhancement of color from the image carrier can be made possible by explicit omission.

Maximilian Welz was born in 1998 in Heidelberg, DE. He has been studying at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste Stuttgart, DE since 2018, in the class of Katrin Plavčak since 2022.
